Senior Metallurgist
Location: Burkina Faso
Our client, an international, vertically-integrated metals and mining company, is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Metallurgist to join their gold winning operation in West Africa.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the person they are seeking will be experienced in the CIL metallurgical processing of gold bearing ores, the implementation of process improvement strategies and technical support for the operations personnel.
Your specific duties will include you to:
- Be responsible for pursuing methods and practices for improving plant performance
- Allocate resources and supervise technical research projects
- Mentor the national metallurgists on methods, and plant operators on best practice for improving plant optimisation and performance
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- At least 10 years experience in all aspects of gold recovery
- Demonstrated commitment to train the national staff
- Demonstrated commitment to OH&S and the community
- French language skills mandatory, English desirable
This is a permanent expatriate single status residential or FIFO position suited to an experienced metallurgist with senior leadership experience and a desire for making a difference within a world-class organisation.
